Verde Floral Announces New “Make It, Take It” Workshop Series
Throughout the Summer, Verde Floral Design‘s popular Lunch and Learn classes draw a crowd of enthusiastic attendees ready to learn how to arrange flowers artfully at home. This year in response to a wave of customer requests, Verde will be expanding their educational season with a new series of workshops running in the Winter and Spring. Led by Verde’s Lead Designer, Whitney Perry, their new “Make It, Take It” Workshops are structured to help you make unique floral designs which you can easily recreate on your own. And, you’ll have fun too!
Details on the classes can be found below….
Terrarium: Mini Indoor Gardens — Wednesday, March 15th or Wednesday, March 29th
Create your own personal view of nature and nostalgia. Using Verde’s Paradise Terrarium, participants will learn how to plant terrariums, what plants work best, light requirements and how to care for them. Once a balanced environment is established, terrariums are virtually care-free. With Earth Day just around the corner, these mini worlds remind us of the need for balance in our busy lives and the pressing need for a sustainable future.
May Day Baskets — Wednesday, April 12th or Wednesday, April 26th
Be the first in your neighborhood to reintroduce the tradition of giving May Day baskets. Participants will learn the history of this delightful traditional as well as how to make a May Day basket using many of the materials from nature.
Ikebana Design — Wednesday, May 24th
Using a Georgetown Pottery Ikebana vase, participants will learn to create a simple, graceful and elegant arrangement in the style of Ikebana, the Japanese way to display flowers. The vase’s permanently affixed “frog” secures your arrangement while its prongs pierce the flower stems, increasing water flow and extending the life of your blooms for up to three weeks. These unique vases will allow you to create Ikebana designs for years to come and make the perfect gift.
Demonstrations last from 11am-12pm. Each session is $75 per person and includes all materials you need to create a beautiful arrangement. Space is limited to 100 participants in each workshop. For more information on these events or to reserve your spot, call 508-681-8169.
