Every neighborhood needs a good bookstore, and here in the Commons that store is the Market Street Bookshop. The locally owned shop is packed with both best sellers and hidden gems. This Sunday, November 11th, in honor of Veteran’s Day, the Market Street Bookshop will be holding a book signing with award winning author Terri Arthur, for her book “Fatal Decision, Edith Cavell”. Arthur’s historical novel tells the story of the legendary Edith Cavell. Cavell was a British Nurse, who is celebrated for her life saving work during Work War I. In Arthur’s novel, she tells the story of Cavell’s courage, resilience, intelligence, and determination during a time of war. Stop by the Market Street Bookshop (located by the Fountain, near Trevi Café Wine Bar) today at 1pm to meet the author.

Please note, due to the rainy weather in the forecast for the weekend ahead, we have moved our annual Halloween celebration from October 27th to Halloween night! Join us on Wednesday, October 31st for spooky tunes, refreshments, fun giveaways for the kids, and trick-or-treating at the shops.
Due to the date shift, the parade portion of the event has been canceled. The event will kick off with a Halloween party in Central Square featuring spooky tunes by Ian Lee and complimentary Halloween themed party favors. The party will take place from 3-5pm, and trick-or-treating will take place from 3-6pm. The event is free and open to the public.
For those interested in entering their pets into Hot Diggity’s doggie costume contest, stop by the store anytime on Saturday, October 27th and they will snap a pic of your pet, and post it on their social media sites, allowing you to pick your faves!
The fall season is our favorite time of year on Cape Cod. The brisk days pair perfectly with leisurely strolls and spending time outside. We have lots of outdoor fun planned for you this season at Mashpee Commons, including our Fall Concert Series at the Bandstand. Join us weekly on Saturday beginning at 2pm to catch some fabulous local musicians performing live tunes. All Bandstand events are free, open to the public, and family friendly. Stop by Woodruff’s Art Center on September 20th for their fall Art Opening, featuring abstract paintings by Chris O’Dell Ferguson
Stop by Woodruff’s Art Center to view their latest show, “Driven to Abstraction: an Artist’s Journey”. The show features the abstract paintings of Cape based artist Chris O’Dell Ferguson. Chris is inspired by a diverse array of subjects ranging from the concrete to the ephemeral. Source material for her abstract work ranges from color, shape, texture and sound. The artist often finds inspiration in the act of creating itself, trusting her own intuition to bring each work to fruition. The show will be on display from September 20th through October 28th, and can be viewed during Woodruff’s regular hours, Monday through Saturday, 9am-5pm and Sunday 11am-5pm.
