Moderate Vinyasa Flow Class at Innerglow Yoga

Vinyasa Class Schedule at Innerglow YogaStop by the Commons’ own locally-owned yoga studio, Innerglow Yoga for their moderate Vinyasa flow class. This class links yoga poses into a sequence of movements that “flow” with the breath. The postures lead naturally from one to the other while building heat in the body. Poses are held for multiple breaths to allow students to feel correct alignment and gain awareness of the body.

The first part of the class will contain a blend of sun salutations, standing and balancing postures, and core work. The latter part of class will include deep stretching to promote flexibility in the joints. With continued practice, beginners will gain experience and confidence, and more experienced students will be challenged mentally by moving deeper into the pose. Appropriate modifications and assists are provided to help students of all levels learn and progress.

Paying attention to how breath is so intimately linked to each movement, we can begin to explore asana as moving meditation.

Patangali’s Sutras, traditional Hatha Yoga and Mantra are also interwoven into the class. The session ends with a guided relaxation as attendees explore the Subtle Body in Sarvasana.

Mashpee Library Community Events CalendarReptiles Rock is an exciting live reptile show that is both educational and entertaining!  On Wednesday, February 22nd, from 2-3pm, meet and learn about fascinating and endangered species of the rainforest. This dynamic and hands-on, educational program includes a presentation with the chance to meet live reptiles of the Rainforest including a tortoise, a large monitor lizard, a 10 foot boa constrictor and even an alligator! After the presentation, explore the Reptiles Rock mini zoo filled with bugs, frogs, snakes and lizards to observe.

This free event is supported by a grant from the Mashpee Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. No registration is required. R-Cade Interactive Entertainment Event at the Mashpee Library

Mashpee Library Community Events CalendarOn Thursday, February 23rd, join the Mashpee Library staff for a wild day of shoulder-to-shoulder, button-smashing fun. From 4-6 pm, team up or face off against one another on some of your favorite video games. Players can go retro with classic consoles like the NES, SNES and Sega Genesis or indulge in their favorite Xbox and PC adventures. It’s a great chance to try new games or revisit old favorites in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

This class relieves stress, and balances the nervous system. An antidote to the fast and busy pace of life, Yin/Yang Yoga is a class that balances Yin yoga with traditional Yang yoga. Yin yoga penetrates deep into the connective tissues in the body, which helps to strengthen the joints, aid in healing, and increase energy flow. Yang yoga is a more traditional hatha asana practice that develops muscular strength, stamina, and flexibility. You will leave class feeling more calm and grounded.
